Know who went as bacon and eggs this Halloween?
Why Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale of course! And I’m sure they got the idea from me and my li’l ole blog. Obviously. Because Ruby and her boyfriend also went as eggs and bacon this weekend! Imagine! I was the egg, he was the bacon.
By Request:

He’s quite a bit taller than me so the pic is a little funny…sorry!
Thanks for all your suggestions, maybe I can use them this Friday when I hand out candy to the neighborhood kids! Its the first time I’ve had that opportunity, I’m looking forward to it.

I’m having a costume party this Saturday and I saw this costume online and totally wanted Boyfriend and I to do this but I can’t find it and he doesn’t want to so no Bacon and Eggs for us. Isn’t it awesome though?
*sigh*
I saw a harem girl costume last night though so maybe Boyfriend and I can be harem girl and sultan? There was also a fabulous Ugly Betty costume but I have no idea what he could be if I do that. I could be a tavern girl and he could be a beer keg maybe?
So the options are:
Harem Girl and Sultan
1950’s: ie poodle skirt, leather jacket etc.
Tavern wench and Beer Keg
Don’t match! Be Ugly Betty!

I was at a networking event the other evening at a really nice country club on the outskirts of the city. A lady came up to me and with the words “I’m a wedding planner, I have that table over there. I brought two of these magazines to display and I was planning on leaving them out but I saw you and I had a feeling you’d need this really soon.”
I looked down at the wedding magazine in her hand and, making sure nobody had slipped a diamond ring on my left hand when I wasn’t paying attention, thanked her very much but told her I wasn’t getting married so wouldn’t want to take her display.
She insisted I was going to need it because she “could feel it radiating” from me that I would need to plan a wedding soon.
I have a feeling that her psychic connections are a bit fuzzy because I’m not getting married and this weekend, the first person I met in high school is getting married and hers is the last wedding (number 14) of the Summer of Weddings. And next year? Nobody I know is getting married.
Ah well, now I have something shiny to flip through in the bath on Sunday!

I had a rather…interesting dream last night.
I had a pet zebra who could talk and wore emerald earrings and slept under my bed. I lived with my sorority sisters in a condo building and we had to keep moving units because National Geographic was after me to try to get my zebra so they could sell it to the circus.
What do you think that means?
I think it means I shouldn’t go to East Side Mario’s for dinner at 10:30 at night.

I’ve lived in Canada for a long time now and consider myself Canadian, I’ve even developed a bit of a love affair with hockey and Tim Horton’s and I? We are inseperable. I’ve even accepted that gravy can be good with fries.
For all the Canadian-ness that’s developed in me over the last few years, there’s still a great deal of Southern at my core. While there’s been a continued Americanization of Canada, there still a list of things that we don’t have/do here and I quite miss.
Let me share this fascinating list of Americana with you….
- Target
- Olive Garden
- Whatchamacallit bars
- Macy’s
- Dunkin Donuts
- tailgating
- Sweet tea
- Chili’s
- Ruby Tuesday’s
- Borders
- Barnes and Noble
- Thanksgiving in November
- Nordstrom
- J. Crew
- Ribbon pulls
- sno-cones

I took myself entirely by surprise last night.
Out of nowhere, I gave Boyfriend a key to my house. I gave him a KEY. To. My. House.
I made chicken souvlaki for dinner and we were chatting and suddenly, without having planned it or really thought it through, I gave him the spare key.
It makes sense for him to have a key logistically and at this point in our relationship I suppose its fitting. I feel like a big “SERIOUS” stamp was just put on out relationship. And that’s fine, I suppose we are. But I’ve never given anyone a key to anything before.
