Hula Hoop

Does anyone remember having a hula hoop as a kid? I had a pink one and I loved it, I used to be able to hula hoop for an hour at a time. I was a chubby kid but holy crap I must have had abs under!

The Wii Fit has a hula hoop game and so far, it thinks I’m a star and its so much fun. I’ve never been one to work out at home, I’ve bought yoga and workout DVDs and never used them. Some are even still in their original plastic packages. Even when I used to take bellydance classes and randomly bellydance around the house I never once used the DVDs I purchased. This is where you shake your head at how I waste money.

The Wii Fit though is amazing, it tells you off when you’re not doing well and it encourages you all the time. I never used any of the yoga DVDs I bought but I’ve been wanting to do yoga for awhile and now I’m finally learning with the Wii! I love it!

It’s Shiny!

Shiny and a solitaire and blindingly sparkly…and perfect! I’ve spent a lot of time just staring at my left hand recently, mesmerized by the ring there.

Sorry to have left you hanging on my last post…as you can see, I said yes.  

And now…its time to plan a wedding!

The Unemployment Report

 Hello world!  How goes it?

So today is officially the milestone of my first week of unemployment! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay unemployment! I know, it’s all that and more. So what have I been doing with myself these last few days?

 

So far I have:  

• Applied to eleventy thousand and three jobs in my field
• Thrown my boyfriend a surprise party (details later)
• Gone to the gym everyday
• Gotten a part-time job to keep me relatively entertained
• Gone on two interviews for full time roles in my field that I semi wanted
• Gotten two rejections for two full time jobs in my field that I semi wanted
• Turned down one crappy part-time job and one SUPER crappy full-time job
• Worked one afternoon at a relatively meh part-time job and then quit
• Had lunch with the girls I used to work with
• Had dinner with friends from university
• Called every single person I know just to chat
• Facebooked hours away
• Read Twilight and New Moon. Twice.
• Watched a crapload of TV
• Obsessively calculated, assessed and revaluated my finances
• Suddenly discovered how lazy I can be with housework
• Spent unbelievable amounts of time in yoga and pajama pants

Bump in the Road

Today is Boyfriend’s and my one year anniversary. Most couples go out to dinner, exchange presents…yada yada yada. Me? I like to get laid off.

OK…well…actually, no, I don’t like to get laid off but I’m not sure anyone really cared what I thought because like it or not I was on the chopping block. Hey, you wanna hire me? I’ll bake you cookies!

 While it totally sucks that being laid off means no more paycheques, I am going to look at this as an opportunity to find another position that will be better for me. I realize its not the best time to be searching for a new job…but really I only need one. That shouldn’t be too tough right? Right????

*sigh*
